Advanced Peels by Noon

Advanced Peels by Noon

Why might I need a skin peel?

There are 3 basic skin types: normal, oily and dry.

Each skin type has certain characteristics that require specific treatment. Your skin type may change during your lifetime due to state of health, climate effects and stress. As it changes your skin can suffer from one or several conditions such as dehydration, the appearance of acne, discoloration and ageing. A chemical skin peel can help correct and greatly improve all of these skin problems.

What happens during a chemical skin peel treatment?

We begin by cleansing your skin and follow with a pre-peel conditioner, the skin peel application, peel neutraliser and finish with a massage and mask.

Please note that a full skin assessment is a vital first step to any Noon chemical skin peel treatment. This allows us to make a thorough assessment of your skin and determine the exact treatment protocol for you. You will be advised at this stage which Noon product(s) you need to purchase to use at home to prepare your skin for your first peel treatment.

Follow home care advice carefully and book your consultation before your treatment

What does the skin peel treatment feel like?

Most people feel a tingling sensation during the peel. The DermaShieldTM technology in the Noon products drastically diminishes any unpleasant sensations often associated with peels.

What happens after the skin peel?

Some people have no adverse reaction after their peel, others have mild to moderate redness and may experience continued tingling for a while - this generally depends on your skin type.
If you have very sensitive skin you may have more intense or prolonged redness. We advise you to use your recommended Noon products during your skin peel treatments to gain the very best results.

Full aftercare instructions will be given to you during your skin assessment.

How many sessions will I need?

This will be discussed with you during your skin assessment and may vary from 1-6 peels. We offer a discount when buying a course of either 3 or 6 Noon skin peel treatments.

Divine Pro Skin Treatments

Divine Pro Skin Treatments

What is the Pyramid FaceLift?

The Pyramid Face Lift is a highly effective treatment that rejuvenates the skin, lifting and toning whilst accelerating blood and lymphatic circulation, as well as optimising tissue oxygenation and detoxification.

What are the benefits?

  • Dermal volumising

  • Skin resurfacing for improvement of skin tone Skin tightening for improvement of skin texture Skin rejuvenation

  • Facial contouring

  • Improvements in scarring

How Does it work?

Combining three technologies (VoluDerm, TriPollar Radio Frequency and DMA), this minimally invasive treatment uses skin tightening, muscle toning, skin resurfacing and micro-needling to work on multiple levels to achieve significant improvements in facial toning, tightening and lifting as well as restoring healthy, radiant skin

What are these technologies?

Voluderm Technology

Improves the texture and volume of the skin

VoluDerm is a minimally invasive solution that uses fine micro-needles applying radiofrequency and non-thermal electrical energy to gently resurface the epidermal layer and volumise the dermal layer of the skin. The micro-needles stimulate the body to naturally produce hyaluronic acid, new collagen, and elastin. The result is significant with long-term dermal volumising, wrinkle reduction and skin resurfacing.

Tri Fractional Skin Resurfacing

For improvements in skin tone and texture TriFractional energy creates micro-channels in the skin which trigger the body’s natural healing cascade. This induces formation of new collagen to create healthy skin tissue. TriFractional delivers 3 sequential pulses to the skin enabling the radiofrequency energy to penetrate the tissue comfortably, without overheating.

Dynamic Muscle Activation

Focused TriLipo RF energy causes contraction of the collagen fibres leading to immediate and long-term tightening results. Dynamic Muscle Action (DMA) helps to tone the facial muscles, adding to the lifting effect of the treatment.

Who can have this treatment?

This treatment is recommended for all skin types apart from very sensitive. It is perfect for ageing (prevention and cure), acne scarring, thick, textured skin, photo damage and pigmentation.

How many Treatments will I need?

It is recommended to receive a course of 3 to 6 treatments for optimum, long-lasting results.Followed by quarterly maintenance

The number of treatments will be discussed in your consultation.

How long is each treatment and how often can I have a treatment?

Treatment times vary between 45 mins to 75 mins depending on what treatment program is suitable..

You will need to have the treatment every two weeks for the duration of your course and then a quarterly maintenance treatment is recommended thereafter.

Is there any downtime or recovery?

Skin will be visibly red immediately after treatment. It is important NOT to use any makeup or skincare for at least 48 hours after your treatment.

You may experience a slight ‘puffiness’ over the next 2 days after the treatment but this will decrease quite quickly.

During the two-week period leading up to your next treatment skin may feel dehydrated and ‘rough’ to touch. This is good! It means your skin is regenerating.

How long will the results last?

A lifetime! Once you finish your course and you maintain your investment with your quarterly maintenance results will last and improve year after year.

Does this treatment always work?

This is a clinically proven treatment and based on our experience with our clients at nu-beau you will see visible results immediately after treatment. This treatment will continue to work beneath the surface of the skin for a further 8-12 weeks and the results will last for 2 years. The main variable is how many treatments you will need to achieve the results you are aiming for.

Before having this treatment we will provide a free consultation during which we can advise how many treatments are needed to achieve the result you want.

What would prevent me from having this Treatment?

The following conditions would restrict you from having this treatment; pacemaker; defibrillator; pregnant or nursing; cancer; autoimmune disorder and diabetes. Medication restrictions include roacutane; anti-coagulants; steroids; tetracyclines or St John’s Wort.

You CAN NOT have this treatment if;

  • You have any synthetic fillers, gold threads, plastic threads or fat implants

  • Mesotherapy, light peels, laser or IPL within 2 weeks of the treatment date

  • Natural fillers, fractional or microneedling within 4 weeks of the treatment date

  • Cryolipolysis within 3 months of the treatment date

Is it okay to apply makeup immediately after the treatment?

It is not recommended. After the treatment you can apply only sterile solutions. Wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup.

Are the treatments safe?

Treatments are safe when conducted according to the guidelines. The energy levels used during the treatments were tested and validated to be safe and effective with no significant risk of injury or damage to the skin.

Semi Permanent Makeup

Semi Permanent Makeup

How long does it take?

For the first Microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 1 hour, sometimes a little more. During this session, we will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment colour selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, the procedure will begin..

The client is to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place 4-6 weeks after the initial session.

How long does it take to heal?

The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and colour will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The colour will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in colour as it heals. No down time is required after the microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the colour to fully set in. You'll notice the colour is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True colour will reveal itself once healed.

Is the touch up session necessary?

Yes! A touch up session after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during the first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the colour!

Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks?

Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 4 weeks after the initial microblading session as pigment colour has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.

Is it painful?

The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure you can apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the area which you can buy from a pharmacy.

The feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything.

After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn.

Clients can take paracetamol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.

How long does it last?

Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, use products with AHA or Glycolic Acid will fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual's colour retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 6 - 12 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal

Why do I need a course of treatments?

As with all cells the hair follicle has a growth cycle. In order for the hair to be permanently destroyed it has to be treated in its growing stage. As the hair root cannot be seen below the skin its state of growth cannot be identified at the time of hair removal treatment. At any one time only 30% of the body's hair will be in the growth stage, therefore a course of laser hair reduction treatment is needed to achieve a good result.

How many Treatments will I need and how regularly?

Typically you will need 6-8 sessions.

This is dependent on the stage and area of treatment. The guidelines are approximately for face 4-6 weeks and body 6-8 weeks, but does depend on the individual’s hair cycle.

Does it hurt?

No, laser hair removal treatments do not 'hurt' but there will be a feeling of slight heating in the area being treated, sometimes described as a 'flick' of heat. Some areas can be more sensitive than others during hair removal treatments. A chiller is used for all treatments, which reduces the heat sensation ensuring minimal discomfort. Some women may experience exaggerated skin sensitivity when undergoing treatment to reduce body hair prior to and during their monthly period.

Who can have this treatment and from what age?

Male or female and anyone wanting to get rid of unwanted body hair longterm.

The question is: How old do you have to be to get laser hair removal? The accepted minimum age to begin laser hair removal can be as young as 14 years old, although most experts recommend waiting until the teen is through puberty and, if female, has begun her menstrual cycle.

The reason for this is that hormonal changes in females may affect how their skin responds to treatment.

When a person enters puberty and begins producing more hormones such as oestrogen or testosterone, there are greater chances of developing an inflammatory response on the skin's surface that could lead to redness, swelling, or other complications after undergoing laser hair removal treatments.

Also, teens with darker skin tones may be at greater risk of developing hyperpigmentation (or dark spots) because their bodies produce excess melanin in response to the laser hair removal treatment.

Is it safe?

Energy-assisted hair reduction using lasers has been safely used for over 20 years. During hair removal treatments a laser beam is focused at the base of the target structure (in this case the hair follicle) before the energy is delivered to the root. Suitable for use on the face or as a solution to reduce body hair, laser hair reduction is a safe, effective, and clinically-proven method that works for all skin types, even sensitive.

How much does hair removal treatment cost?

All laser hair removal treatments to reduce body hair are bespoke and therefore prices for treatment vary. Please contact us to find out more.

What happens after a laser hair removal treatment?

Directly after treatment to reduce face or body hair there might be some redness and a small amount of swelling. This usually dissipates within 1-24 hours. After hair reduction treatment the area can feel warm and 'tingly' directly following treatment. The following is recommended for 24 hours post treatment:

  • No hot baths or showers – tepid only

  • No heat treatments i.e. saunas and steam rooms

  • No deodorant, perfumes or scented body lotions/creams

  • No swimming or Jacuzzis

  • No steam ironing or cooking over boiling saucepans

How should I prepare for laser hair reduction treatment?

  • Do not use products containing retinol or strong AHA fruit acids prior to or during your laser hair removal treatment

  • Do not bleach or use depilatory products for at least 1 week prior to treatment or perfumed/aromatherapy products for 24-48 hours before treatment

  • Avoid swimming in strong chlorinated water immediately before treatment

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing when attending the treatment

  • Keep the area clean and dry

  • Physical sunblock should be worn at all times on areas visible to sunlight (SPF 30)

  • Avoid sun exposure and sun beds for 4 weeks before treatment

  • Avoid use of irritants or stimulant solutions or creams on the area

  • Do not use any other form of hair removal except shaving during your treatment programme and shave no earlier than 2-4 days after treatment

  • Should area appear red or tender then apply recommended aftercare gel or apply ice or cooling gel packs which can improve comfort and reduce redness and swelling

  • Do not use fake tanning products for two weeks prior to treatments including spray tanning and tinted moisturisers

Veins (Vascular Lesions) - Face and Body

Other Laser Treatments

Veins (Vascular Lesions) - Face and Body

How does Nd:YAG laser treatments work on veins?

A vein is a small blood vessel that sits near the surface of the skin. During vein removal treatment, laser light targets the blood that contains haemoglobin within the vessels. The haemoglobin absorbs the laser light emitted, converting it into heat. This heat destroys the protein in the wall of the vein vessel causing it to collapse and disperses the blood. The vessel is then reabsorbed naturally by the white blood cells with the body. An in-depth consultation with your thread vein removal specialist will be carried out to assess your personal needs before a treatment programme can proceed. This is followed with a patch test to determine skin response and the size of vessels before treating unwanted veins.

Which thread veins can be treated?

Thread veins can be unsightly and can affect self confidence but, through the use of Nd:YAG laser technology, treating unwanted veins on all parts of the body is possible. Superficial smaller veins in the facial, chest and leg areas are the most common veins to be removed by this technology. The technology is supported by worldwide clinical research studies with proven results for vein removal treatment.

How many treatments are needed?

Vein removal treatment relies on the absorption of the laser beam into the haemoglobin within the blood to disperse the vein and is most effective on light skins. The lighter the skin the more pronounced the vein is which makes it easier to be treated. The darker or tanned skins will absorb more light, which makes treatment less effective. Recommended treatments of 1-4 treatments may be required one month apart; however this does depend on many factors depending on how many vessels that are to be treated and the area to be covered along with skin sensitivity. It is not possible to define how many treatments an individual will require, but treating unwanted veins is a straightforward procedure.

What does this treatment involve?

When treating unwanted veins a handpiece is held above the vein and a beam of laser light is delivered to the individual vein. At the time of vein removal treatment and thereafter some veins will visibly disappear immediately, some become darker in colour, some fade gradually and can take up to a few weeks or more for the vein to disperse or lighten ready for further treatment. It is important to avoid tanning of the skin by solarium, sun or self tanning before and during Nd:YAG laser vein removal sessions. This is to ensure that the vessel absorbs the light for an effective treatment.

It is advised not to smoke 2-4 hours prior to receiving this treatment as smoking can cause the vessels of the vein to constrict making the vein less available to treat. We also advise that post treatment an SPF sunscreen is used to the treated area(s), to limit sun exposure for a few weeks and compression (surgical stockings) should be worn for up to two weeks after receiving vein removal treatment.

Benign Pigmented Lesions

Other Laser Treatments

Benign Pigmented Lesions (age spots/sun damage) - Non-ablative skin rejuvenation (IPL)

How does it work?

Fractional laser treatments use a relatively new technology that successfully corrects many dermatological and cosmetic skin conditions. With these anti-aging treatments, the laser beam is broken up or fractionated into many small micro beams that are separated so that, when they strike the skin surface, small areas of the skin between the beams are not hit by the laser and are thus left intact. These small areas of untreated skin promote much more rapid re‐epithelialisation, recovery and healing, with less risk of complications. The small areas treated by the fractional micro beams, called micro treatment zones, cause sufficient laser injury deep in the dermis to promote new collagen production and resultant facial skin rejuvenation.

Does it hurt?

No - you will feel warmth when the laser is worked over the skin but no pain will be felt. Your skin may remain pink for up to 24 hours and we recommend you follow a thorough skincare routine following your treatment.

What do I need to do to prepare my skin?

During consultation for skin resurfacing treatments you will be advised on a thorough skincare routine which we advise that you follow to achieve maximum results.

What will my skin look like after?

Everyone's skin reacts differently to anti ageing treatments but we do expect you to have pink/red skin directly after the treatment which will fade over the next 24/48 hours. Skin flaking can follow roughly 4/7 days after skin resurfacing treatments take place.

How many treatments will I need?

This varies from person to person but we recommend a minimum of 3 with 4 weeks in-between each treatment.

Acne Treatments (IPL)

Other Laser Treatments

Acne Treatments (IPL)

How do IPL treatments work?

IPL adult acne treatment relies on absorption of haemoglobin in the blood for the treatment to be effective. The system transmits a filtered light to the treatment area which is a beam of energy that passes through the skin. If the haemoglobin is hit with the correct level of energy, the energy will heat up within the fine blood vessels that supply the sebaceous glands causing minor injury to the glands and slow down the overproduction of oil and remove the most common bacteria that leads to the cause of acne growth. An in-depth consultation with a skin specialist will be carried out before treating adult acne, and a programme can then be processed to assess your personal needs followed with a patch test to determine skin response. The technology is supported by worldwide clinical research studies with proven results.

How many treatments are needed?

The recommended adult acne treatment time varies but 4-6 sessions may be required to obtain the desired result. This does depend on the grade of acne in place, the area required to be treated/ covered along with skin sensitivity. It is not possible to define how many treatments an individual will require when treating adult acne.

Can I be treated?

If you suffer from permanent acne you could benefit from an IPL adult acne treatment at Therabeautic. Adult acne treatments can work on inflammatory acne skins that are best known as red, aching, raised spots, lower grade acne sufferers and for skins which suffer frequent outbreaks.

What does a treatment involve?

IPL adult acne treatment is a quick and simple way to combat acneic skin on the face and body. By using a chilled hand piece this is gently placed onto the skin and pulses of intense light is applied to the treatment area. The skin after a treatment can appear hot, red with slight swelling for up to 24-48 hrs after.

It is important to avoid tanning of the skin by solarium, sun or self tanning before and during acne sessions. We also advise that post treatment SPF sunscreen is used to the treated area(s) to limit sun exposure for a few weeks and application of medicated topical cream to be used in the evening to the treated area prescribed by your doctor.

What about Acne Scarring?

Acne scarring can really affect a person's confidence. Redness, marks and pitted scarring can't easily be hidden when it's on the face. Laser therapy is one of the advanced techniques, which is frequently used for skin rejuvenation. Non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing is developing very rapidly to become the gold standard for laser resurfacing therapy for various indications including photo rejuvenation therapy and acne scarring reduction.

Fractional laser skin treatment is a new technology that successfully corrects many dermatological and cosmetic skin conditions. Onychomycosis/Fungal nail infections

Other Laser Treatments

Onychomycosis/Fungal nail infections

What is a fungal nail infection?

Fungal nail infection of the toenails or fingernails is caused by a fungal microbe that invades the nail bed. Fungal nail infection is also termed onychomycosis and tinea unguium. This condition causes fingernails or toenails to thicken, discolour, disfigure, and split. At first, onychomycosis appears to be only a cosmetic concern. Without treating fungal nails, however, the toenails can become so thick that they press against the inside of the shoes, causing pressure, irritation, and pain.

Who is affected?

This is an increasingly common nail disorder in adults the risk of having this nail disease increases with age and through underlying nail disease. It’s common to seek over the counter ways of treating fungal nails, but clinic treatments are more effective.

What causes fungal nail infections?

Half of all nail disorders are caused by onychomycosis, and it is the most common nail disease in adults. Toenails are much more likely to be infected than fingernails. The incidence of onychomycosis has been increasing and is associated with diabetes, a suppressed immune system, and increasing age. Adults, especially the elderly, are more likely to have onychomycosis than children.

  • Athlete's foot is a fungal skin infection which can spread to affect toenails. The risk of developing athlete's foot is increased by having hot sweaty feet.

  • Candida is a fungal yeast infection which can affect the skin around the fingernails before affecting the nails.

  • Health conditions, including diabetes or psoriasis, may increase the risk of fungal nail infections as they can damage the nail or skin allowing infections to develop.

  • Biting the nails and use of artificial nails can increase the risk of fungal nail infections.

  • The risk also increases with age and among smokers.

How severe can a fungal nail infection become?

Fungal nail infections are not usually painful at first, but left untreated the infection may spread and could cause complications, which include cellulitis skin infection, or osteomyelitis bone infection. If the infection becomes painful, shoes may be uncomfortable to wear and tasks using the hands such as writing may hurt.

How do I prepare for treatment?

Treating fungal nails is simple, but ensure all nail varnish is removed and nails are clean.

What can I expect from the treatment?

Some warmth will be felt when treating fungal nails. The treatment will last at least a few minutes per nail and you will feel an increase in heat within the nail being treated.

How does it work?

Using a short pulsed Nd:Yag laser, we increase the temperature underneath the nail bed which kills the fungi. Depending on the severity of the infection you may require a course of 3 or more treatments. In mild cases one treatment will be sufficient. In the below picture you can see the laser (in blue) being directed down onto the nail bed through the nail itself.

How often would I have the treatment?

For best results it is recommended that one treatment every few weeks.

How many treatments will I need?

This varies from person to person. In mild cases one treatment could be enough.

Blemish Removal

Blemish Removal

How long does it take?

The duration of the advanced electrolysis procedure depends on the size and number of blemishes that need to be treated. The procedure is usually quick and can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.

Does it hurt?

The level of pain experienced during advanced electrolysis can vary depending on the individual’s pain tolerance and the area being treated. However, there are ways to minimise the discomfort. The pain rating of electrolysis differs for each method used.

Moreover, there are several ways to manage electrolysis pain, such as using numbing cream before treatment, preparing your skin before the session, and communicating frequently with your electrologist during the procedure. It has also been suggested that taking painkillers around an hour before treatment can be an effective way of combating the pain caused by electrolysis

Are there any side effects?

Some of the side effects of advanced electrolysis include immediate redness in the treatment area that can last for 1-2 days, depending on how sensitive your skin is. Other possible side effects include tenderness, swelling, and scabbing. However, these side effects are all normal and temporary.

Is there any downtime after the treatment?

After an advanced electrolysis treatment, you may expect some crust and scabbing on the area, depending on what is being treated. Any minimal downtime can last up to 5-14 days. It is important to follow all the aftercare advice given to maximise the healing process.

How much does it cost?

This all depends on the size and amount of blemishes treated. Prices start from £50 for single blemishes and from £80+ for multiple blemishes.
